DEAL BREAKERS for DATING!!!

These are some notes from my talk at Barnard Hall about Christ Centered Dating. Some of the ladies asked me to post them so they could get the notes so here they are. For those of you that are reading this and don't get it. No worries. Maybe someday you will have a friend who will need this advice.

As an encouragement: James 1:12-15

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
13When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

We all have things in life we have to patiently endure but when we do we come out feeling more blessed then we ever thought we deserved. That is how I feel about my husband and my dating life. I got the most beautiful crown…Jason Welker. I also walked away with good scripture knowledge that I can apply in my life and help others to stay strong. It is worth the wait and it will be life changing. Remember what Paul prays for the people of his church…

Phil 1:9-11 9And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

  Of course during my talk I went into why each of the verses makes for a bad mate.

The Snag Him Up Categories

• Have someone in your life that is a woman of God who can give you wisdom and advice or a married couple that can guide you both as you date.
  Proverbs 15:22
  
  My last point is: Find someone who is hungry to be godlier, reflects that in his life (step by step because we all come from different places), and avoid the deal breakers listed.
  



• Remember and memories: Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
